    Obtain better results

This is a simple introduction to visual communication

    Get started
    Obtain better resultsadmin2022-09-13T14:47:20+02:00

Innovative thinking, effective learning, creative strategies, constructive meetings, nuanced conversations, better well-being, greater motivation, stronger unity, deeper commitment

… and much more – but how? Spread picture cards on the table, floor, stairs or grass. Ask a question and let the participants find answers through pictures that speak to them. Then you are already in the process of achieving results that make sense and create motivation on an individual level – it is that easy!

A picture can make you say more than a thousand words – this is how we rephrase an old proverb. Dialoogle is a powerful tool for motivating people to communicate clearly and honestly in a playful way. Try some of these easy exercises and experience the amazing results yourself.

    Four useful exercises

Icebreaker – off to a good start

    1. Lay out all the Dialoogle picture cards in front of the group.
    2. Ask everyone to choose a picture card that says something about him or her which the others are not aware of.
    3. Ask the participants to team up in pairs and present themselves to each other, using the pictures they have chosen.
    4. After two or three minutes, ask the participants to switch cards with their partner and find another person to introduce themselves to.
    5. Now they must present themselves by using the new picture card.
    6. Continue the exercise for 15-30 minutes depending on the size of the group.

All group members do not have to meet.

Team Building – learning from the past

    1. Spread a set of Dialoogle picture cards on the table.
    2. Ask all participants to choose four pictures that describe the past year. One representing a valuable experience; one symbolising a success; one illustrating a lesson learnt from a failure; and one representing a surprise.
    3. Let all members explain why they chose their pictures.
    4. Lay out all Dialoogle cards on the table once again. Now, each participant must pick two or three cards that symbolise hopes for the coming year. The pictures may illustrate individual dreams, or what the participants hope to achieve together.
    5. Let all participants tell the group about their pictures – allowing them time to go into detail if they like.

Evaluation – what was the outcome

    1. Lay out all the Dialoogle picture cards on a table or the floor in front of the group.
    2. Ask the participants to spend a few minutes choosing the picture that best illustrates their outcome of the activity they were part of. They are not supposed to pick up the card – others may like to use the same one.
    3. Now, the participants take turns picking up their card of choice and explaining to the group why they chose their particular picture. Each person typically speaks for up to one minute.
    4. After speaking, participants place their card on the table or floor again so that others who chose the same card can pick it up.
    5. The evaluation continues until everybody has presented their picture – maybe including the facilitator as the last one.

    Dialogue – developing leadership skills

    1. Lay out all the Dialoogle cards in front of the focus person.
    2. Ask her/him to choose two picture cards. One that symbolises what she/he would like to continue doing as a leader. And one that illustrates new things she/he would like to do as a leader.
    3. Ask her/him which of the two cards symbolises what is most important for her/his career development – and place it on top of the other card.
    4. Ask her/him why she/he chose these two cards.
    5. Now, ask the focus person to imagine that a year has passed, and she/he has had success as a leader. Then ask her/him to choose two more cards that illustrate her/his successes.
    6. Put the two new cards on the table next to the first two and ask the her/him to tell you about each of the new cards.
    7. Then ask her/him to describe the journey from the images of the present to the images of the future – and what would be the signs of her/him being on the right track.

    Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Pocket and Magnum cards?

The Editions and the Faces picture series are available in two different sizes: Pocket and Magnum. Pocket cards are sized 9×9 cm, and Magnum cards are sized 19×19 cm. The Pocket size is particularly suited for use on the table in one-on-one conversations and very small groups. The Magnum size is well suited for spreading out on the floor when you work with large groups – but it is also ideal in one-on-one conversations when you and your partner prefer to be on your feet and in motion. You may use the two sizes in combination in order to inspire new visual reflections. You may also use Pocket cards to add new perspectives and ideas to a central Magnum card.
