How to use the online Conversation Table
When you and the participants share the conversation board on your screens, the visual conversation can begin. You can take turns controlling and selecting, rotating, flipping, and adding text to the picture cards.
1. For a participant to choose picture cards that appear on the shared Conversation Table, she/he must have Control. She/he takes Control by clicking “Me” in the control panel. By using the arrow under “Me,” a participant can choose another person to take Control. – If you do not share screens with anybody, you will have Control all the time.
2. At the bottom left of the page, you can click on the tab that shows the Edition you have selected for the conversation. The picture cards are displayed one by one in a large size. You can browse through them by using the arrows on each side. You select a picture card and place it on the Conversation Table by clicking on it.
3. On the Edition tab you can click on the icon with four squares and see all picture cards in the series. You can choose a card by clicking on it. – If you wish to choose several cards, tick off the small red check box at the top of each picture. Click the checkbox again to deselect the picture.
4. When picture cards have been selected, the “View selections” tab can be used to display the cards that participants have chosen. Use the Eye icon to hide/show pictures on the Table. It may be helpful to be able to focus on one or a few selected picture cards. (Paragraph 7. explains how to place more than one card on the Conversation Table).
5. The tool icons on the right allow you to rotate, flip, or add text to a picture card. Click on a picture card to highlight it with a red frame. Then you can click on the Rotate or Flip icon.
6. By clicking on the Text icon when a picture card is highlighted, you can insert text underneath it. Click OUTSIDE the text box to save your text. You can write up to three lines with 50 words per line. Right-click on a picture card, and the same options that the tool icons provide will appear in a menu.
7. Below the tool icons on the right side of the Conversation Table, you can decide how many picture cards you want to display on the Table. 1×1 will display one large picture card, 2×2 will display four cards (two rows with two columns) etc. You will be able to choose more rows and columns if you have selected more picture cards.
8. When you have a number of picture cards on display at the Conversation Table, you can click on one of them and move it around.
9. On the right side of the Conversation Table, you can navigate up and down if you have selected more picture cards than those on display.
10. You close the conversation by clicking on the arrow at the bottom right of the Conversation Table. The conversation ends, and all participants can create their own documentation.
