Expectations for the youth guidance counselling session
Coordinate your expectations with the young person before the session, so you are both aware of the aim and values of the session.
- Lay out the Dialoogle picture cards in front of you.
- Ask the young person to choose two or three picture cards that represent the issues they believe you can help them with or give counsel on.
- Ask them to give the reasons for choosing these particular picture cards.
- Afterwards, each of you can choose another picture card symbolising what you would like to contribute to the conversation.
- Explain the reason for choosing that particular picture card.
- Place the picture cards on the table as reminders of the aim and values you have established as being important to the conversation.
You may choose to select only one picture card.

Innovation
Innovation is discovering, developing and applying new ideas in known workflows and processes. Give innovation a boost with images.
Brain
90% of the brain’s sensory input comes from visual sources. Images start thought tracks in the brain. If they cross each other in new combinations, new ideas emerge.
Creativity
Creativity unfolds when we use imagery and try to combine different and seemingly independent motifs with each other.
