Cooperating on the development of new ideas
Develop ideas in pairs, focusing on possibilities and solutions. This may have a positive effect on the well-being in the workplace.
- Lay out the Dialoogle Magnum cards on the floor.
- Ask the participants to choose an image each that describes themselves and how they would approach a given assignment.
- Ask the participants to pair up. They now take turns talking about their picture card, while the other listens and asks questions.
- A secure relation is established within the pair, since they have gotten to know each other and have committed themselves to the conversation.
- Ask all groups to place their picture cards on the floor in front of them as an “equation”: 1+1 = New possibilities.
- Ask the groups to tell each other about the new possibilities they see unfold when the images are added up.
- When the conversations have had time to unfold, ask all groups to change the order of their cards. Does the new “equation” generate more ideas and solutions?
- Tell the groups that they are allowed to move their picture cards around and place them as they like, if they are not already doing so: Upside down, displaced, with one picture card covering part of the other, etc. Any way they feel like.
- When time or energy is about to run out, draw a large speech balloon on the blackboard. Ask each participant to write down a few keywords inside the speech balloon, describing the most important things they have learned from the exercise. Next, the participants present the keywords to their partner or in plenum depending what makes the most sense.
- Finally, ask the participants to photograph one or more of the new “equations” that represents important realisations or definite goals in order to remember them later on.
If a pair cannot come up with more image combinations or if the generation of ideas and solutions ebbs out, you can place an extra picture card as a representation of the ‘plus’ in the equation 1+1.

Innovation
Innovation is discovering, developing and applying new ideas in known workflows and processes. Give innovation a boost with images.
Brain
90% of the brain’s sensory input comes from visual sources. Images start thought tracks in the brain. If they cross each other in new combinations, new ideas emerge.
Creativity
Creativity unfolds when we use imagery and try to combine different and seemingly independent motifs with each other.
